Singles Awareness Day Saves the Day!

Alone on Valentine’s Day? Well, you’re not actually alone. While many are happily coupled up after being struck by Cupid’s arrow, a great number of us are single on Valentine’s Day, making February 15th, also known as Singles Awareness Day, the day to celebrate being alone!

Now let’s make an important clarification here. Celebrating being single DOES NOT mean you’re not celebrating love. Singles Awareness Day is still a celebration of love, but one that celebrates love in all its many forms, not just romantic love. Whether or not you’re partnered up, love is still part of our everyday lives, and it’s important to acknowledge it in all its forms:

Platonic love is the love you share with friends, those closest to you who have shared in experiences and adventures, know your deepest darkest secrets, and always have your back.

Family love is a unique bond you can only share with those you call family, and that family certainly doesn’t have to be conventional.

Self love may be last on the list, but it should be first in your heart. Loving yourself is the is not just important, it builds a foundation for every single relationship you will ever have.

Let love in this Singles Awareness Day, and if all else fails, don’t forget, February 15th is also discount candy day...
